The Apéro Garden

Apéro starts in the garden.

Every evening, the same four things. Garden seating, the sunset, something cold, and a board to pick at. What you do before you come down, and what you do afterwards, is yours.

Come down whenever you like.

After a swim, after the beach, before dinner, or for no particular reason at all. Nothing is arranged and nothing is booked. You walk down, you sit, and something cold arrives.

Most people find they come down earlier each day.

The 35-metre lagoon pool curving past natural rock and a low waterfall toward the sea.
Wicker chairs and a drinks table by the pool as the sun drops.

This part never changes.

Whatever else you decide to do with the evening, it starts the way it always starts.

Curated boards

That is the whole of it, and it happens every afternoon whether anyone asks for it or not.

There is always something open.

Tell me what you drink and it will be there when you come down.

Sharing plates

Six ways I set the same table.

Sunset Board

The board as it comes — a little of everything, and a glass beside it.

Sunset Board for Two

The same board, laid for two, at the quiet end of the garden.

Champagne Sunset

Champagne on ice from the moment you sit down.

Wine and Sunset Board

A bottle chosen for the board, rather than the other way round.

Private Sunset Table

A table set apart from the rest of the garden, and left to you.

Celebration Sunset

For an evening that is actually about something. Tell me what, and I will set it accordingly.

Sunset takes it from there.

Then the evening is yours.

Some people go up to dinner. Some stay exactly where they are.

Dinner

Up to the house, once the light has gone.

Sunset BBQ

The grill lit by the pool, and the evening stays where it is.

Sunset Pool Experience

The pool, lit and warm, with the garden still open behind you.

Or nothing at all

Another drink, the same chair, and no plans whatsoever.

Two guests dining at a long table beside the pool at sunset.

The garden is arranged by the house.

The sunset keeps its own hours and the weather has opinions, so anything beyond a drink and a board is confirmed with you before you arrive — and I will tell you honestly when the island has other plans.

Come down for
the first one.

Tell me when you are coming and for how many. The evening takes care of itself after that.
